イカリ環境事業グループは、「美しい街づくり」を経営理念に掲げ、人間が健康で長生きできる環境を願い、1959年に創設し、今年の６月で創業５０周年を迎える、環境エンジニアリング企業です。

現在、国内・海外100ヶ所のネットワークで、食品工場・医薬品工場の衛生管理から、病院、公共施設、オフィス・商業ビル、流通関係、文化財保護、農畜産関連等の48000件を越えるお客様に対して環境保健サービスを提供いたしております。
2004年に開設いたしました「LC環境検査センター」では１５０名の専門家スタッフにより、食品の残留農薬検査を始め、異物混入検査、水質検査、微生物検査等、教育、コンサルティングを含めた幅広い需要に応えるべく、事業を展開しております。

また、21世紀環境新時代に、新しい時代に望む独自の環境技術を開発し、できるだけ薬剤を使用しない、いない（ゼロの）状態を維持する、予防を主眼とする環境を保障するシステム『LCecosys 21』を提案いたしております。例えば、遠隔監視による自動オンライン防鼠システムJラインは、世界１０カ国で特許を取得しており、新宿駅東口近くの飲食ビルやホテル、公共輸送機関施設等で成果を上げております。
　現在、600件に及ぶ特許技術などの知的財産権を所有するほか、科学技術庁長官賞、黄綬褒章、東京都功労者賞、注目発明選定証等の社会的な高い評価をいただいております。

1996年には環境文化創造研究所を設立し、世界的な環境学者である、アースポリシー研究所所長のレスターR.ブラウン氏を名誉顧問にお迎えして、さらに地球規模で社会に貢献できる事業を展開い たしております。
　健康で長生きできる環境を目指し、『健康や環境』における知識や智恵、アイディアを高めると、環境の文化度を上げていくことを『環境文化の創造』であると確信いたしております。
　特許・実用新案・商標などの知的財産権取得に向けた教育、指導、コンサルティングから、月刊誌クリンネスの発行、地球白書、環境衛生関連等の出版事業、映像メディアの企画制作、環境フォーラム開催、環境緑化事業、環境アセスメント事業まで、社内・社外に幅広い事業を提供いたしております。
　四十数年に及ぶ「さくらふるさと街づくり運動」も、国内・海外に30万本が大きく、美しい花を咲かせております。その他に、「レスター・ブラウン地球環境運動」、2006年4月に創設した、日本で初めての環境認証機関「グリーングローブ日本支部」、環境緑化推進運動まで、国際社会に根差した環境保健産業の構築に更なる努力を重ねる決意です。

Founded in 1959, the IKARI Environmental Group is an environmental engineering group devoted to the creation of a healthy and pleasant living environment. In June 2009, we mark our 50th year of working to ensure that human beings enjoy a long and fruitful life.

Our extensive network presently includes 100 branches worldwide. Our services include hygiene management for food production and pharmaceutical factories, as well as environmental health services related to hospitals, public facilities, offices and commercial buildings, the logistics industry, the preservation of cultural resources, and the agriculture and livestock industries. Altogether we now have more than 48,000 such clients.

In 2004, we established the LC (Life Creation) Environment Inspection Center to meet growing demand for environmental services. Our team of 150 experts conducts inspections on the residual pesticides in foods, production contamination, water quality, and microorganisms. They also provide such services as education and consulting.

LCecosys 21 is the outcome of our drive to develop proprietary environmental technologies well-suited to the 21st century. An environmental protection system, the LCecosys 21 system focuses on the eradication and prevention of pests using eco-friendly, non-chemical control measures. The launch of this system was a major departure from the traditional pest control concept of simply killing pests when found. One example is J-Line, our automated rat catcher system, which can be monitored online. Patented in 10 countries, it is proving to be highly successful in hotels and buildings housing eating and drinking establishments outside the East Exit of Tokyo's Shinjuku Station, known as the busiest station in the world. The system is also being used in facilities related to public transport.

Today, our intellectual property rights extend to as many as 600 patented technologies. Reflecting our commitment to social responsibility, we have garnered numerous awards including the Minister’s Award of Science and Technology from the Science and Technology Agency, the Medal with Yellow Ribbon for outstanding services, the Tokyo Municipal Merit Award, and the Best Innovative Invention Award.

In 1996, we established the Institute for Environmental Culture to further develop our commitment to develop business that contributes to society on a global scale. World renowned environmentalist Lester R. Brown, the president of the Earth Policy Institute, was selected to be the honorary advisor.

We are devoted to the creation of an environmental culture that nurtures health and longevity. By developing technology, ideas, and know-how that promote a healthy and pleasant living environment, we firmly believe that an environmentally friendly culture can be created.

We provide a vast range of services. These include education, instruction, and consulting in connection with the acquisition of intellectual property rights such as patents, model utility rights, and registered trademarks. A broad range of activities extends to our monthly magazine Cleanliness, State of the World (Japanese version), publications on the environment and sanitation, the production of video media, the organizing of environmental forums, greenification activities, and environmental assessment projects.

Our initiative to share the exquisite beauty of cherry blossoms with everyone has resulted in the planting of 300,000 trees all over the world during a period of more than forty years. Not only we are an active participant in Lester Brown’s Global Environment Movement, in April 2006, IKARI also introduced "Green Globe" to Japan, thus becoming Japan’s first environmental standards certification authority. Through these and other activities that include the promotion of greenification, we remain committed to developing environmental health services with deep roots in the international community.
